Table fan failures and solutions | 6 inch table fan
Faults and solutions that are easy to occur when the desk fan is connected.
Trouble: 1. The fan blade does not rotate, and the motor has a buzzing sound.
Reason: The power supply voltage is too low. Measures: Use a multimeter to measure the power supply voltage.
Reason: The main winding or the auxiliary winding of the motor is open circuit. Measures: Use a multimeter to measure the motor windings.
Reason: Short circuit inside the motor winding. Measures: Check whether the motor shell is hot or not. Use a multimeter to measure whether the current is too large. If it is, it means that there is a short circuit inside the winding. Only replace the motor or rewind the winding.
2. The fan blade does not rotate, and the motor has no buzzing sound.
Reason: The contact is unsoldered or the connection wire is open. Measures: Disassemble the base of the table fan, carefully check the solder joints and connection points, and reconnect them if they fall off.
Reason: Poor contact of timer contact. Action: Replace the timer.
3. Difficulty in starting.
Reason: The rotor is not concentric with the stator or bearing. Measures: After removing the fan blades, twist the shaft by hand to check whether the rotation is flexible. If there is obvious blockage, the motor should be adjusted for concentricity.
Reason: Poor lubrication between the shaft and the bearing. Measures: Check whether the rotating shaft is flexible. If it is blocked by poor lubricant, you can clean it carefully with gasoline. After cleaning, add some light machine oil, such as sewing machine oil, to the oil-bearing bearing.
